Leading rusher Ivory goes on IR; Saints re-sign Wynn

The New Orleans Saints placed rookie running back Chris Ivory, the team's leading rusher, on injured reserve and re-signed running back DeShawn Wynn.

Ivory sustained an injury to his left foot during Sunday's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The undrafted free agent rushed for 716 yards and five touchdowns in 12 games.

Wynn returned to the Saints after first signing with them as a free agent in August. He played on special teams in four games, then was waived in October. Wynn then signed with the San Francisco 49ers, played on special teams in three games and then was waived in December.

Running back depth has been a problem for the Saints all season. Reggie Bush is healthy after missing more than half of the season due to a broken leg, but Pierre Thomas re-injured his left ankle in practice last week and was inactive for Sunday's game.
