LaVon Brazill's latest suspension has cost him his job.
The Indianapolis Colts announced Friday that they have waived Brazill, one week after the wide receiver was suspended indefinitely for violating the NFL's Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse.
A sixth-round draft selection of the Colts in 2012, Brazill had 23 receptions for 347 yards and three touchdowns in 25 career regular-season games. He had two long touchdownreceptions in Indy's divisional-round playoff loss to the New England Patriots in January.
Brazill's postseason performance showed his potential, but off-the-field issues have undermined him. After failing multiple drug tests, Brazill was tagged with a four-game ban to start the 2013 season. He acknowledged at the time that he had to choose between "money or marijuana."
Brazill's latest ban was the final straw for the Colts, who in a corresponding move, signed free-agent wide receiver Aaron Burks on Friday. One man's stumble is another man's opportunity.
