Larry Fitzgerald of Cardinals will conduct the Phoenix Symphony

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald will try on a different hat on Sept. 20 when he conducts the Phoenix Symphony, FoxSports.com reported on Thursday.

Fitzgerald, an active member of the Phoenix community (he won the 14th annual Arthur S. Arkush Humanitarian Award this year), is forging a reputation as one of the NFL's most eclectic superstars.

The All-Pro will take the baton for the National Anthem.

"I've been watching YouTube videos of conductors late into the night to see what they actually do. I don't want to make a fool of myself," Fitzgerald said.

"I don't want to be dramatic, because I don't want the attention on me," Fitzgerald said. "I want the focus to be on them. They're the professionals, and they're amazing at what they do. I'm lucky they'd want someone like me."
