Lamar Jackson returns to Ravens practice for first time since suffering hamstring injury

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson returned to the practice field on Wednesday for the first time since suffering a hamstring injury in Week 4.

According to locals, Jackson jogged out to the practice field midway through the session and warmed up with teammates during the portion open to the media. Jackson was officially limited on the practice report.

"It was good, it was good," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said of Jackson's return to practice. "I was happy with all the guys, seeing everybody out there. We got a lot of guys out there. So that was great."

Jackson missed the Ravens' last two losses while nursing the hamstring injury. Baltimore had a Week 7 bye. The hope was the former MVP could return and help jumpstart a comeback for the 1-5 club Sunday against the Chicago Bears.

Asked Wednesday what Jackson's chances are to play Sunday, Harbaugh responded, "It's hard to put a number on it. I think it's just part of the process right now. I don't have any shareable injury intelligence for you guys at this point."

Harbaugh did not say who would start at quarterback -- Cooper Rush or Tyler Huntley -- if Jackson was unable to play again.

Jackson is 2-0 in his career in his first game back after missing time due to injury (Week 13, 2020; Week 12, 2021). A similar result, if the QB can play, would keep the Ravens' season afloat heading into the stretch run. A loss would have Baltimore in dire straits.
