Knee injury shelves Dolphins safety Jones for Broncos game

Miami Dolphins free safety Reshad Jones is inactive for Tim Tebow's big day at Sun Life Stadium.

Jones, who hurt his knee during Monday's loss to the New York Jets, was replaced in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos by Tyrone Culver, whose two previous career starts came in 2009.

Dolphins cornerback Vontae Davis and safety Chris Clemons, who had been questionable with hamstring injuries, are both active.

Before the start of warmups, Tebow, the Broncos' new starting quarterback, briefly met on the field with former University of Florida coach Urban Meyer. The Dolphins are honoring the Gators' 2009 BCS national championship squad during halftime of Sunday's game, and plenty of Tebow fans are expected to be in attendance to witness the second-year pro's first start of the season.

Tight end Julius Thomas, slowed by an ankle injury, is inactive for Denver. Running back Willis McGahee (back) and wide receiver Eddie Royal (groin), who had been on the injury report during the week, are both active.
