Klint Kubiak confirms he's headed to Raiders as HC after Seahawks' Super Bowl win

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- After earning a Super Bowl victory, Klint Kubiak is officially on his way to Las Vegas.

The Seahawks offensive coordinator was mum about reports that he would be the next Raiders head coach, saying during Super Bowl week that he was solely focused on doing everything he could to bring a second Lombardi Trophy to Seattle.

Now that that task is handled, Kubiak confirmed to NFL Network’s Stacey Dales he’s on his way to Vegas.

“You guys know I’m going to Las Vegas, so I’m fired up about it,” Kubiak said following Seattle's 29-13 win over the New England Patriots on Sunday.

Dales followed up, asking if he was indeed headed to lead the Raiders.

“Hell yeah, of course I’m going,” the OC responded.

While Kubiak eschewed all questions about the Raiders, GM John Schneider tacitly confirmed the OC’s eventual move on Monday’s edition of The Insiders.

Now what was pervasively known can be discussed in the light following a Super Bowl victory.

"I'm really happy for Klint. Without him, we wouldn't be here,” Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald, who now has to find a new OC, said on NFL GameDay Final. “Happy for Klint, he's a world champ, and we'll see what happens in the next couple days."

Levi’s Stadium is a special place for the Kubiak family. A decade after his father, Gary, won a Super Bowl in Santa Clara with the Denver Broncos, Klint takes home his first Super Bowl ring with a victory in the very same stadium.
