Jets LB Taylor skips practice but cleared from concussion

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- New York Jets linebacker Jason Taylor sat out the team's first practice in preparation for the AFC Championship Game at Pittsburgh with a concussion, but he has been cleared by doctors to play Sunday night.

Jets coach Rex Ryan said Wednesday that Taylor was injured at some point during last Sunday's 28-21 win at New England and felt the effects of it later that night. Ryan said he expects Taylor to practice Thursday after he passed medical tests and is "ready to roll."

Wide receiver-kick returner Brad Smith (groin) missed the game against the Patriots, but he has practiced on a limited basis.

Also limited for the Jets but expected to play are: cornerbacks Darrelle Revis (hamstring) and Drew Coleman (knee), safety James Ihedigbo (right knee/ankle).
