Jerry Jones: Dallas Cowboys' defense in 'good shape'

It's NFL draft week, better known as the lying season. That is true when NFL teams are talking about prospective draft picks or even their own roster. Cue Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, asked Monday about finding players for the team's new defensive scheme.

"The good news is we really are in good shape over on the defensive side of the ball where that scheme is," Jones said.

(Well, we know how Jones would answer our Cowboys draft question about if they can afford to draft on offense.)

The reality is that the Cowboys are very thin on defense. They have no quality safeties, and their depth throughout the front seven is non-existent. Jones also said that the Cowboys are looking to trade down in the first round, which means they're trying to trade up.
