Jeremiah: UCLA's Josh Rosen is CFB's most gifted passer

With Josh Rosen's first season at UCLA winding down, the hype surrounding the freshman quarterback continues to wind up.

NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah took to Twitter on Saturday night to put Rosen's place among more experienced passers such as Memphis' Paxton Lynch, California's Jared Goff and Michigan State's Connor Cook in startling perspective:

Of course, the other quarterbacks will be drafted sooner than Rosen -- Cook is a senior, while Lynch and Goff might apply for early entry into the 2016 NFL Draft as juniors -- but that doesn't mean they'll be chosen higher. Rosen is well on his way to 3,000-plus passing yards for the Bruins, a remarkable total for a first-year college player. Rosen didn't quite have enough Saturday vs. Washington State, though. The Cougars knocked off the Bruins, 31-27, as Rosen threw for 340 yards and rushed for 70 yards and a TD.

Jeremiah, a former NFL scout with the Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Ravens, sees a natural.

That's high praise for a kid who was playing on a high school field 12 months ago, but consider the gap between Rosen and the top quarterback prospects for the 2016 draft to be more about years than skills.
