Jackson back in Bucs' lineup after year-plus suspension

Tanard Jackson has gone from banned from the game to back in the lineup for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, starting at free safety Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.

Jackson was a fourth-round draft pick in 2007 and started 32 consecutive games to begin his career. He was suspended for the first four games of 2009 for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy. He was disciplined again for a minimum of a year just two games into the 2010 season.

The Bucs will be without running back LeGarrette Blount, who's dealing with a knee injury. Defensive tackle Gerald McCoy (ankle) also was inactive, as was offensive tackle James Lee (knee).
