The Seattle Seahawks brought in some much-needed aid for their offensive line.
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday the Seahawks have agreed to a contract with guard J'Marcus Webb, per a source involved in the deal.
FOX Sports first reported the news.
Webb spent most of last season at guard for the Oakland Raiders, but has experience at tackle. The 27-year-old lineman's performance in both spots last season was mediocre.
The Seahawks have a hole at right guard, after J.R. Sweezy defected to Tampa Bay during free agency. Webb should compete to fill that role and could provide backup swing-tackle duty in a pinch.
A seventh-round pick in 2010, Webb struggled brutally as a starting tackle with the Chicago Bears before the team cut bait in 2013. Webb started just one game for the Vikings over the next two years, before landing at guard in Oakland last season.
