J.J. Watt on spitting incident: 'I do that every game'

J.J. Watt didn't think it would cause such a stir, but it (obviously) did.

On NFL Network
"NFL Replay" will re-air the Patriots' 41-28 divisional playoff win over the Texans on Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 9 p.m. ET.

Before Sunday's 41-28 playoff loss to the New England Patriots, the Houston Texans defensive end was seen walking to midfield at Gillette Stadium and spitting on the Pats' logo.

This kind of move doesn't play well in hostile environments, but Watt later dismissed the incident as a weekly ritual.

"I do that every game, home or away," Watt told the Houston Chronicle after the game. "I go out to midfield, spit a little bit, wipe my feet off, and I go through my stretch. No drama there. That's 100 percent what I do every game, home or away."

Watt's a proven nuisance to quarterbacks on the field; he's not someone who goes out of his way to stir controversy away from the game. Chalk it up to superstition, but it's maybe one Watt should avoid in opposing stadiums next season.

Because this season, for the Texans, is over.
