New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart suffered a concussion during Sunday's 24-20 loss to the Chicago Bears and did not return.
It was unclear when Dart suffered the concussion, but backup QB Russell Wilson entered the game on the opening play of the fourth quarter with the Giants already having possession.
Dart, meanwhile, was escorted to the blue medical tent before heading to the locker room to be further evaluated for a concussion.
The Giants held a 17-10 lead over the Bears at the time of Dart's exit.
Wilson proceeded to lead the Giants to a field goal score at the end of his first drive, extending New York's lead to 10.
Despite turning the ball over on downs in their next possession, the Bears roared back with consecutive TD drives in the fourth quarter to take the lead.
Wilson had an opportunity to play hero with 1:47 left in the game and two timeouts remaining, but the Bears thwarted the would-be comeback at midfield, sacking the veteran Giants QB on the their final offensive play for a turnover on downs.
Wilson completed 3 of 7 passes for 45 yards during his time in relief.
Dart finished 19-of-29 passing for 242 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions while getting sacked twice. The rookie was more effective against the Bears with his legs, leading the team with 66 rushing yards and two scores.
