Giants OT McKenzie, CB Webster miss practice with injuries

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New York Giants offensive tackle Kareem McKenzie and cornerback Corey Webster missed practice Thursday because of knee injuries, but coach Tom Coughlin said he isn't sure whether either will be able to play Monday night against the Washington Redskins.

Both players hurt their left knees during Sunday's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, and Coughlin said Webster has a better chance of playing against the Redskins.

Giants wide receiver Mario Manningham also missed practice Thursday with an undisclosed illness, and backup running back Ahmad Bradshaw was out with an ankle injury that has bothered him almost all season.

Rookie Will Beatty would start if McKenzie can't play. He started Oct. 25 against the Arizona Cardinals when McKenzie was sidelined by a groin injury.

"He is a good, young football player," Coughlin said of Beatty, a second-round draft pick. "We have asked him to play a number of spots. He has played left tackle, he has played tight end, right tackle and has done a good job. He is going to have to do another good job."

If Webster can't go, the Giants might have to move Aaron Ross back to cornerback. Ross, who missed the first nine games with a hamstring injury, started at safety last week, the first time he has played the position since college.

Ross had been a starting cornerback for his first two seasons. Terrell Thomas replaced Ross this season with the injury.
