Giants LB Pierce practices, expects to play on Sunday

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New York Giants middle linebacker Antonio Pierce returned to practice on Friday after missing two days with a mild concussion.

"He did everything today, he took every snap, so I will check with him when I go in, but I think he certainly is on his way," Giants coach Tom Coughlin said, adding that he expects Pierce to play on Sunday in Detroit.

The Giants (6-3) and the Lions (6-3) will play to determine the third-best record in the NFC behind Dallas and Green Bay, both 8-1.

Pierce was listed as questionable for the game along with receiver Plaxico Burress, who has been bothered by a sprained right ankle all season but has not missed any games.
