Georgia becomes latest state to limit full-contact practices in preps

Tuesday's health and safety news from the world of football:

  • that the state's high school governing body has voted to limit full-contact practice time for football teams, possibly becoming the most strict among the growing number of states to make such a move.

Full-contact drills only will be permitted 135 minutes per week during the week with no consecutive days and never more than once on two-a-day practices. During the season, that limit drops to 90 minutes a week with no more than 30 minutes for one practice no more than two consecutive days of full contact.
