George Wilson reportedly will visit with Lions, Titans

The Buffalo Bills decided they were through with George Wilson, but the veteran safety shouldn't have trouble finding work.

CBSSports.com's Jason La Canfora reported Wednesday that Wilson has visits set up with the Detroit Lions and Tennessee Titans after the Billsreleased the seven-year veteran on Monday. According to the Detroit Free Press, the Lionswill host Wilson on Thursday.

Wilson turns 32 next month, but he started all 16 games for the Bills last season and remained effective against the run. His coverage skills slipped some, but he's arguably a better option than Amari Spievey in Detroit. The Titans, meanwhile, clearly aren't thrilled with Jordan Babineaux.

Wilson -- who graded out as the eighth-ranked safety in the NFL by ProFootballFocus last season -- is going to latch on somewhere because consistent safeties are hard to come by.

The Bills dropped Wilson to chop $2.9 million off the books. His release gives the front office some potential wiggle room to re-sign free safety Jairus Byrd. Wilson -- who can sign with a team immediately -- was no longer part of the Bills' plans, but he will land somewhere else.
