Fantasy spin: A "fantasy" 2008 NFL mock draft

We're less than one week from the 2008 NFL Draft.

It's one of the most important events on the NFL schedule, as teams attempt to find the next Peyton Manning, LaDainian Tomlinson or Joe Thomas and avoid the Ryan Leafs, Ki-Jana Carters and Tony Mandarichs of the world.

But what if general managers and head coaches made their first-round selections based on how it would affect fantasy football?

Sure, it's a little out of the norm (OK, it's a LOT out of the norm).

But it is called fantasy football!

Since it's impossible to determine a rookie's true value until after he's been drafted, I've put together a first-round mock that's based on a combination of team needs, best-case scenarios for short- and long-term value, and whether the addition of a player would increase the stock of an incumbent starter for the 2008 season.
