Fantasy football 2016 roster reset: AFC East

Now that we're past free agency and the draft, we have a clue of how the teams around the NFL are going to line up. More importantly, we also have a pretty good idea of which players could be in line for some nice fantasy production in 2016. To help you out, we've brought back our Roster Resets for another season. Keep checking back as we add a new division each day.

Buffalo Bills

Key re-signings:Leonard Hankerson, Richie Incognito
Key arrivals: Jim Dray
Key departures: Chris Hogan
Key draft picks:Cardale Jones, Jonathan Williams, Kolby Listenbee

Fantasy depth chart
Quarterback:Tyrod Taylor, EJ Manuel
Running backs:LeSean McCoy, Karlos Williams, Jonathan Williams
Wide receivers:Sammy Watkins, Robert Woods, Marquise Goodwin
Tight ends:Charles Clay, Jim Dray, Chris Gragg

Buffalo's offense has the pieces in place to become a go-to fantasy outfit in 2016. After winning the starting quarterback job in 2015, Tyrod Taylor was a surprise fantasy contributor who should improve after a season as the full-time starter. It also helps that Taylor is throwing to Sammy Watkins, who continues to improve and should be poised for big numbers in his third season. Fantasy managers will be looking for a rebound year from LeSean McCoy after the veteran runner failed to crack the top 15 at his position last season. If he can't fulfill his duties, Karlos Williams is waiting in the wings while 2016 fifth-round pick Jonathan Williams is likely champing at the bit for his opportunity.

Miami Dolphins

Key re-signings: None
Key arrivals:Daniel Thomas, Griff Whalen
Key departures:Lamar Miller, Rishard Matthews
Key draft picks:Kenyan Drake, Leonte Caroo, Thomas Duarte

Fantasy depth chart

The Dolphins were expected to do big things on offense last season. Unfortunately, those big things never materialized. Ryan Tannehill will try to return to his top 10 form from 2014 after falling all the way to QB17 in 2015. To help in that effort, he'll have target monster Jarvis Landry at his disposal. Tannehill will also have the speedy Kenny Stills and uber-athlete DeVante Parker to throw the football to. One thing that will be missing this season is Lamar Miller. The underutilized rusher departed for Houston in the offseason, opening thigs up for Jay Ajayi to get his shot as the team's lead running back. However, Ajayi could end up splitting carries with rookie Kenyan Drake if the team wants a change of pace.

New England Patriots

Key re-signings: LeGarrette Blount
Key arrivals:Martellus Bennett, Thad Lewis
Key departures:Donald Brown, Chris Hogan, Nate Washington
Key draft picks:Jacoby Brissett, Malcolm Mitchell

Fantasy depth chart

The Patriots have always been a mixed bag when it comes to fantasy. Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski are locks to be among the best in their respective categories -- even with Brady facing a four-game suspenion to begin the season. Once upon a time, Belitricks ruled the New England backfield, but Dion Lewis did his best to slay that demon last year before a knee injury prematurely ended his season. This year, Lewis could end up splitting snaps with the re-signed LeGarrette Blount. As for the wide receivers, there's Julian Edelman ... and everyone else. New England's wideouts have continually been an underwhelming hodge podge and it's not likely to change dramatically this season.

New York Jets

Key re-signings:Bilal Powell, Kellen Davis
Key arrivals:Matt Forte, Khiry Robinson
Key departures:Chris Ivory, Jeremy Kerley, Stevan Ridley, Jeff Cumberland
Key draft picks:Christian Hackenberg, Charone Peake

Fantasy depth chartQuarterback:Geno Smith, Bryce Petty
Running backs:Matt Forte, Bilal Powell, Khiry Robinson
Wide receivers:Brandon Marshall, Eric Decker, Kenbrell Thompkins
Tight ends:Jace Amaro, Kellen Davis, Zach Sudfeld

The most important player to the Jets' fortunes in 2016 isn't currently on the roster. That would be Ryan Fitzpatrick who was pressed into duty as the starter last season and turned in one of the best years of his career. Now he's a free agent and everyone is waiting to see if he'll return to Gang Green. His return (or lack thereof) will impact the receiving duo of Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker. One player who should shine regardless will be free agent addition Matt Forte, who figures to be the Jets workhorse this year.
