» Jay Cutler has no touchdowns and one interception against San Diego. Those are terrible numbers against a vulnerable Bolts' pass defense. ... Touchdown, Michael Turner, on a 74-yard run. That's 13 fantasy points on one run for "The Burner." ... Touchdown, Alex Smith, on a 3-yard pass from Jeff Garcia. Smith now has 6 yards and two touchdowns against Indianapolis. ... Touchdown, Vincent Jackson, on a 15-yard pass from Philip Rivers. Denver looks awful on defense. ... Champ Bailey has a strained quadriceps and is not expected to return against San Diego. The Broncos are down, 27-3.

» Touchdown, Arnaz Battle, on a 23-yard pass from Trent Dilfer. The Niners are on the board but still down, 9-7. Dilfer was a little fired up after the catch -- he should remember he has 88 passing yards in the contest. .... Matt Stover connects on a 49-yard field goal. He now has three conversions on the afternoon. Baltimore is up, 9-0, in a snore-fest in San Francisco. ... Boston is now up 9-0. How did the Angels win the AL West with this team? ... The Red Sox are up 6-0. Ugh. ... Kenton Keith now has two touchdowns for the Colts. He's been a great addition for fantasy owners this week filling in for Joseph Addai.

» Frank Gore has 39 rushing yards on 11 carries against Baltimore. The San Francisco offense looks terrible with Trent Dilfer under center. ... Touchdown, Antonio Gates, on a 7-yard pass from Philip Rivers. Gates has four catches for 54 yards in the contest. Matt Leinart is out six to eight weeks with a fractured collarbone. » Matt Stover just kicked his second field goal, this one from 32 yards. ... Willis McGahee is having a nice game for Baltimore with four catches and 91 all-purpose yards in the first half. ... Matt Leinart suffered a fractured left collarbone against St. Louis. Sounds like he'll be out for an extended period, so pick up Kurt Warner now. ... Field goal for Matt Stover. Baltimore takes a 3-0 lead. I need a nap. ... Who needs Todd Heap when you have Quinn Sypniewski? The reserve tight end has four catches for 28 yards in the first half.

» Michael Pittman injured his ankle against Indianapolis. He was carted off the sidelines and could be out the rest of the afternoon. Earnest Graham will now see most of the backfield work for the Buccaneers. .... Touchdown Jeff Garcia on a 3-yard pass to Alex Smith. ... The Baltimore-San Francisco contest is the perfect cure for insomnia. No points, and Trent Dilfer has 8 passing yards.

» It's about time Norv Turner used LaDainian Tomlinson -- you know Norv, he did score a million times and win the MVP last season. LT has already posted over 100 all-purpose yards against Denver, and there's still 11 minutes left in the first half. ... LaDainian Tomlinson's new facemask looks like Hannibal Lecter's mask in Silence of the Lambs. ... Nice numbers for Michael Pittman (two carries, minus-6 yards) and Earnest Graham (two carries, minus-4 yards) against the Colts. Yuck.

» Boston is up 2-0 on the Angels. If Boston wins and the Yankees lose tonight, it will be hard for me not to be physically sick. I can't take another Boston championship. Plus I'll have to hear about it from all my friends who root for Boston, especially Jessica. She likes the Patriots, too, so it would be a real bust-fest. Man, I hate the Red Sox.

Brian Leonard has posted five catches and 135 all-purpose yards against Arizona. ... Tom Brady threw three more touchdown pases this week -- he's on pace for 50-plus touchdown passes on the season. ... Touchdown, Kurt Warner, to Larry Fitzgerald. Warner now has two touchdowns, and Fitzgerald has nine catches for 136 yards.

» Eli Manning throws a 53-yard touchdown pass to Plaxico Burress. Manning now has two touchdown passes on the afternoon. Burress has scored in every week this season. ... Jason Campbbell now has two touchdown passes, his second went Mike Sellers. ... John Kitna has 61 yards against Washington. ... Brodie Croyle is in for Damon Huard. ... Seneca Wallace is in for Matt Hasselbeck, who is on the sidelines but doesn't seem to be injured. His passer rating for the afternoon was under 45. ... » The earlier touchdown from Edgerrin James has now been given back to OL Reggie Wells. If you have James, be sure to keep tabs on the final box score because the score keeps bouncing back and forth between Edge and Wells. ... Touchdown, Vincent Fuller, on an interception return for a score off a Joey Harrington miscue. Harrington and Vince Young have combined for three interceptions and no touchdowns in the contest. Tennessee takes the lead 20-13. ... Damon Huard just took a huge hit and is down for Kansas City.

Randy Moss has been shut down by the Cleveland Browns -- two catches, no touchdowns. ... Todd Heap is inactive for Baltimore. ... Travis Henry is active for Denver, but Javon Walker is out. Mike Bell is also inactive for the Broncos.

» Touchdown, Torry Holt, on an 11-yard pass from Gus Frerotte, who now has two touchdown passes on the afternoon. ... Adalius Thomas has returned for New England. ... Leon Washington just returned his second kickoff for a touchdown in three weeks, this one on a 98-yard run. ... Willie Parker just had a touchdown overturned by replay. Injuries are unreal this afternoon. .... Shaun Alexander has 15 yards on eight carries in Pittsburgh. ... Antwaan Randle El hurt his hamstring against Detroit. He is out for the remainder of the contest. He finished with seven catches for 100 yards. ... Drew Brees had a touchdown pass to Devery Henderson overturned by replay. The Saints just scored on a short run from Mike Karney.

» Touchdown, Kurt Warner, on a 1-yard quarterback sneak. Arizona takes the lead 17-13. ... FOX Sports just reported that Edgerrin James has been credited with the first Arizona touchdown, not OL Reggie Wells, on the fumble in the end zone. That's good news for fantasy owners. ... Willie Parker has 29 rushing yards on 12 carries. Najeh Davenport has one carry for 45 yards. ... Touchdown, Brad Smith, on a 16-yard pass from Chad Pennington. ... Steve Smith has one catch at halftime. His season could be a major disappointment if Jake Delhomme isn't back soon.

» Matt Leinart injured his left collarbone against St. Louis, and his return is doubtful. Pick up Kurt Warner now. ... Brady Quinn is warming up on the sidelines for Cleveland. Could it be Brady vs. Brady in New England? ... Derrick Ward just scored on an 8-yard run. Odd that Ward, not Brandon Jacobs, was in the contest so close to the goal line. ... Matt Leinart is walking off the sidelines and into the locker room. He seems to have some sort of left shoulder ailment. It's time to add Kurt Warner. ... Touchdown Benjamin Watson on a 7-yard pass from Tom Brady. New England is up 20-0.

» David Carr has returned for the Panthers. ... Adalius Thomas needed help getting off the field. Looks like some sort of a leg ailment. ... Where is the offense in New York? Eli Manning and Chad Pennington have a combined 94 passing yards. ... Jay Feely has three field goals in the first half against Houston. ... Edgerrin James fumbled at the St. Louis 1-yard line, and OL Reggie Wells recovered it in the end zone for a touchdown. Bad break for owners who have Edge.

» Reggie Bush has returned for New Orleans. ... Touchdown, Heath Miller, on a 13-yard pass from Ben Roethlisberger. ... It looks like Santonio Holmes will be available. That's a killer for a lot of fantasy football owners. ... Reggie Bush is on the sidelines with an undisclosed ailment. Pierre Thomas is in for the Saints. ... Kurt Warner is in for the Cardinals. Matt Leinart was 7 of 12 for 100 yards with no touchdowns and one interception. ... Ronnie Brown now has at least one touchdown in three consecutive weeks. He's the new LaDainian Tomlinson. ... Larry Johnson has 10 yards on six carries for the Chiefs. Yuck. ... Brian Leonard has five carries for 45 yards against Arizona.

» Deion Branch just left the Seattle-Pittsburgh game on a cart. He sustained a sprained foot and his return is questionable. What's up with all these injuries! ... Trent Green sustained a concussion and is out for the rest of the afternoon. With his list of concussions in the past, Green could be out for an extended period of time. ... Maurice Jones-Drew scores on a 52-yard run against Kansas City. Looks like hes going to have his first solid stat line of the season. ... There has been no offense in the Seattle-Pittsburgh contest.

» Touchdown, Chris Cooley, on a 7-yard pass from Jason Campbell. All Cooley does is catch touchdowns! ... Antwaan Randle El has six catches for 63 yards against the Lions. He's on pace for a monster stat line. ... Cleveland punter Scott Player looks like the Travelocity roaming gnome in a football helmet. ... David Carr is leaving the sidelines on a cart with an injured back. Bad news for the Panthers -- and fantasy owners who have Steve Smith. Matt Moore will take over for Carr. ... Touchdown, Drew Bennett, on a 12-yard pass from Gus Frerotte. It's Bennett's first score of the season.

» David Carr was injured in the Carolina-New Orleans tilt. Matt Moore would come in to replace Carr if he's out. The quarterbacks are dropping like flies. ... Trent Green took a knee to the helmet attempting to make a block. This looks bad -- Green is being taken off the field on a stretcher. Almost the same scenario as his concussion against Cincinnati last season. Cleo Lemon will come in for Miami. Green's season could be over. ... Jamal Lewis has a right foot ailment. His return is questionable. Jason Wright will take over the backfield duties for Cleveland.

» Touchdown, Donte' Stallworth, on a 34-yard pass from Tom Brady. It's Stallworth's first touchdown of the season. ... Touchdown, Chris Brown, on a nice 3-yard, red-zone run. It's a little bit of a shock that Brown, not LenDale White, saw the goal-line look. ... Jamal Lewis is headed to the locker room. Not sure what happened -- I'll keep my ears open. His return is questionable. ... Interception in the end zone for Junior Seau. ... Santonio Holmes injured his hamstring in pregame warmups. That's not good news for the Pittsburgh offense.

» Brandon Jacobs fumbles -- and it's returned for a touchdown for the J-E-T-S. Not a good start for Jacobs in his return from an injured knee. ... Larry Fitzgerald just made a sick full-extension catch against St. Louis. ... Touchdown DeAngelo Hall on a recovered fumble from LenDale White. ... Touchdown, Ron Dayne, on a fourth-and-goal from the 1-yard line. He could have a monster stat line against Miami. ... Drew Brees just threw another interception. What is the deal with him this season? ... Matt Leinart just threw a bad interception. Kurt Warner, anyone?

» Reports indicate Travis Henry will be active against San Diego, but I would bet that Selvin Young will see his share of carries. Remember, Henry isn't 100 percent. ... The Rams official website reports that Aaron Walker, not Randy McMichael, will start against Arizona. ... Reports out of New York indicate that Derrick Ward will start against the Jets, but Brandon Jacobs will see his share of carries.

» I just started Ron Dayne over Frank Gore in one of my 13 leagues. We'll see if it pans out. ... Anquan Boldin, Jake Delhomme, Ahman Green and Andre Johnson are all inactive. Brandon Jacobs is active and will see significant work against the Jets. ... Laurence Maroney is out again. This makes Sammy Morris a tremendous option against Cleveland. ... If you haven't heard, Javon Walker is out for Week 5. Chances are he will return in Week 7 -- Denver has a bye next week.

» OK I have to vent about the Yankees this morning. First off, I'm starting to think the Curse of the Bambino has switched from Boston to New York. I mean, the 2004 ALCS choke was bad enough, but now the Yankees can't hit in the postseason. What's is up with A-Rod all of the sudden? What's more, the baseball gods brought out the locust on Friday night in a game the Yankees would have won! As a die-hard Yankees fan, I'm a little sick at this point. Of course I'll be on all the football -- and the fantasy implications -- but I'll also have an eye on the Yanks and Tribe this afternoon. If the Yanks lose, I think Don Mattingly or Joe Girardi will be the new manager. We'll see.
