Eli Manning doesn't mind shadows of Sanchez, Tebow

Eli Manningdid a fine job on "Saturday Night Live," but we're starting to wonder if he's run out of jokes this offseason.

In a city where the back pages appear dangerously obsessed with Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow, the New York Giants quarterback said he prefers taking a backseat to his New York Jets counterparts.

"You know, it's one of those deals in New York," Manning said on CNN's "Starting Point with Soledad O'Brien." "You win a Super Bowl, but I'm the third-most talked about quarterback right now between Mark and Tim and I. That's the way I like it."

Flashback: Manning dropped the same line before a crowd at the University of Mississippi in April.

We're not facing a life-or-death scenario here, but Eli's argument is breaking down. It's a challenge to outshine the Sanchez-Tebow hype parade, but Manning's place in the pecking order is clear.

The Giants star hosted "SNL" weeks after Lindsay Lohan and Sofía Vergara took the stage and just prior to Will Ferrell and Mick Jagger headlining the show. He's the only one of anyone mentioned here with two Super Bowl titles.

Not exactly a man lacking for attention.
