Philadelphia Eagles general manager praised the talent of DeSean Jackson on Thursday, but didn't elaborate on the wide receiver's future with the team.
"We feel fortunate to have a player of DeSean Jackson's magnitude on our football team," Roseman said, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. "And I think the future is bright for DeSean Jackson."
Jackson has been quarterback Michael Vick's most dependable deep threat the last two seasons, but his production slipped in 2011 following an extended holdout. He also was deactivated for a Week 10 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals after missing a special-teams meeting.
Roseman didn't explicitly state the Eagles wanted to re-sign Jackson, but he did say the organization's philosophy is to deliver talent from within.
Jackson was a second-round choice of Philadelphia in the 2008 NFL Draft.
"You want to always keep your really good players under contract. That's the way it's always been," Roseman said. "It's been draft and let's extend them and re-sign them. It just doesn't always happen that that's how it works."
