Dwayne Bowe promises 'show to watch' with Chiefs

After just a few days of organized team activities, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe is ready for the season to start. It's safe to say he's rather excited about the Andy Reid era to begin.

"(Jamaal Charles) is going to lead the league in rushing this year, and I'm going to lead the league in receptions and touchdowns," Bowe said Wednesday, via Adam Teicher of the Kansas City Star. "When we get in full gear and pads and close to the season, it's going to be a show to watch."

Schein Nine: Breakout candidates

Who will become the next household name in the NFL? Adam Schein identifies nine players who are primed to make the leap. **More ...**

Translation: Yeah, we really weren't feeling the whole Romeo Crennel era.

Beyond Bowe's bluster does exist some genuine reason for optimism. Eric Fisher and Branden Albert make a terrific tackle combination on the offensive line. It really wouldn't be that shocking if Charles contended for the league lead in rushing -- he ranked second and fourth in his last two healthy seasons. The offense also is deeper with three interesting tight ends: Anthony Fasano, Tony Moeaki and rookie Travis Kelce.

The bigger question is if Reid can rebuild and regain his offensive success from his time with the Philadelphia Eagles. For Bowe's bold predictions to be right, Reid and quarterback Alex Smith need to be very, very good.
