The Miami Dolphins signed veteran guard Randy Thomas on Wednesday to help fill a void on their offensive line created by injuries to Nate Garner and rookie John Jerry, *The Palm Beach Post* reported.
Thomas, who has played 10 seasons for the New York Jets and Washington Redskins, has started in 143 NFL games. He was drafted by the Jets in 1999, when Dolphins executive vice president of football operations Bill Parcells was coach and general manager of that team.
Thomas' 2009 season ended abruptly on Sept. 30, when he suffered a torn triceps in the Redskins' game against the St. Louis Rams. The Redskins cut him in March.
The Dolphins waived undrafted wide receiver Ryan Grice-Mullen to make room for Thomas.
