The escalating drama between the New York Jets and cornerback Darrelle Revis is starting to play out like the ending of a bad divorce.
The current squabble regards the Jets reportedly not allowing the rehabbing Revis to skip the Jets' voluntary workouts if he wants to earn the $3 million in bonuses that was written into his contract.
While the Jets' brass won't admit it, it's all but assumed the team will trade Revis rather than see him walk away next offseason when they only will get, at best, a compensatory third-round pick.
However, the most recent and persistent potential trade partner, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, might be getting fed up with the slow, frustrating dance the Jets are leading.
Yahoo! Sports' Jason Cole reported Monday morning that the Bucs are growing "impatient with the process," according to three sources.
The Buccaneers, according to Cole, have been willing to pay Revis the $15 million to $16 million per year in a contract extension as well as trade a combination of first-, third- and sixth-round picks to the Jets.
