Demar Dotson, Tampa Bay Buccaneers reach contract

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers seem to be biding their time, waiting to see if a Darrelle Revis deal can complete their offseason overhaul of their secondary. General manager Mark Dominik is staying busy in the meantime.

The Bucs announced Thursday a new four-year contract for offensive tackle Demar Dotson. He started 15 games last season. Dotson originally arrived in Tampa Bay as an undrafted free agent in 2009.

The Bucs have spent a lot of money on their offensive line, from left tackle Donald Penn to guards Davin Joseph and Carl Nicks. Dotson figures to come at a reasonable rate, but he looks locked in as the team's right tackle of the future. The Bucs have to be hoping for better play -- and health -- out of this group in 2013.
