DaVaris Daniels, Kendall Moore don prison gear

DaVaris Daniels and Kendall Moore, two of five Notre Dame football players who have been suspended for the season, came up with some daring costumes for Halloween Friday.

At least, perhaps a little daring for Daniels.

The two donned prison gear for Halloween and Daniels posted a photo of the costumes to his Instagram account, with a caption reading "Free Us" with images of two locks and one key. Moore, a backup linebacker, figures to be done at Notre Dame regardless, given that he graduated in May and was taking graduate classes. But Daniels, who initially indicated he would also walk away from the school, reportedly might still find his way back onto the team for 2015.

Given that Notre Dame is Notre Dame, Daniels' spoof isn't likely to be taken with too much humor in the higher offices of the South Bend, Ind., campus. Not that a Halloween costume should make any difference in Daniels' ultimate fate -- it shouldn't.

For this season, the only key the Fighting Irish care about is the one that would unlock a College Football Playoff berth.
