Darrelle Revis injures knee; New York Jets await MRI

The New York Jets are holding their breath on Darrelle Revis.

The star cornerback suffered a non-contact injury to his left knee Sunday late in the third quarter of the Jets' 23-20 overtime victory over the Miami Dolphins. He did not return to the game and is scheduled to have an MRI on Monday, The Associated Press reported.

Revis was hurt attempting to plant his leg while in pursuit of Dolphins running back Daniel Thomas. Revis appeared to be in considerable pain but was able to walk off the field under his own power.

Revis was tended to by trainers on the sideline before being carted to the Jets' locker room.

It goes without saying that the Jets' playoff chances would take a catastrophic hit if Revis, considered by many to be the NFL's best cornerback, were to be sidelined for an extended period.

The Jets got a glimpse of life without their best player last week in Pittsburgh, where Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had no problem picking apart the New York secondary.
