Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb exits Thursday night loss to Lions with concussion

Dallas Cowboys star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb exited Thursday night's loss to the host Detroit Lions with a concussion.

Lamb went up for a one-handed catch in the end zone early in the third quarter and crashed to the turf, hitting his head. In a frightening sight, he appeared to be in a fencing position trying to outstretch his arms. He was subsequently evaluated on the sideline and then taken to the locker room before he was ruled out.

At the time of Lamb's departure, the Cowboys were trailing, 27-9. A few plays later, Dallas scored on a Javonte Williams touchdown run, cutting the score to 27-16 on the ensuing extra point.

Lamb had six catches for 121 yards in the game.

Lamb missed three games earlier in the year with a high ankle sprain. George Pickens picked up the slack splendidly, and will be called on to do so again.

Dallas (6-6-1) which was the No. 9 seed in the NFC playoff picture before Thursday's game, saw its playoff probability drop to 8% with the loss.

Lamb will now enter the concussion protocol, putting his status into question for Week 15, as well.
