Cowboys' DeMarcus Ware likely to miss 3 to 4 weeks

The Dallas Cowboys knocked off the Washington Redskins on Sunday night, but the team's third victory of the season came with a cost.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday that DeMarcus Ware is expected to miss three to four weeks after straining his quadriceps muscle, per a source who spoke with the pass rusher.

Losing Ware is crippling. He remains one of the NFC's premier edge rushers and a solid run-stuffer. We've been impressed with the inside pressure Jason Hatcher has created this season, but Ware's absence can't be masked. He told reporters he could barely walk after the game and it seemed obvious he wouldn't immediately return.

Neither will running back DeMarco Murray, who sustained a sprained knee against the Redskins.

A source told Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that Murray is unlikely to play against the Philadelphia Eagleson Sunday, but Dallas remains hopeful he'll return against the Detroit Lions in Week 8.
