Indianapolis Colts nose tackle David Parry was arrested on suspicion of theft, robbery and DUI charges in Scottsdale, Arizona, on Saturday.
According to Scottsdale Police Dept. Sgt. Ben Hoster, Parry was taken into custody after he allegedly hit a man and stole a transportation cart. The victim told police he picked up Parry and two others from a bar in downtown Scottsdale. The driver said he was then "struck in the head" by Parry as he tried to receive payment from the other two riders upon dropping them off.
The victim told police Parry then jumped back into the cart and drove away. Police responding to a 911 call for a hit-and-run collision found the cart crashed into an apartment complex gate. Police found Parry a short distance from the cart and said he displayed signs of alcohol impairment. He was taken into custody at 2:15 a.m. MST and booked into Maricopa County Jail.
Parry was arrested on suspicion of robbery, auto theft, criminal damage, resisting arrest and DUI charges, according to Hoster.
The Colts released a statement regarding Parry's arrest: "We are aware of the reports and are gathering more information."
Parry, 24, has started in all 32 games he's played in with the Colts. In 2016, he recorded 47 tackles and three sacks.
