Carroll: Beating Cards best feeling 'Hawks had all year

The Seahawks on Sunday got back to basics.

In a smothering19-3 win over Arizona, the Legion of Boom tightened the vice on Cardinals quarterback Drew Stanton and never eased up, allowing their fewest points and yards (204) in a game all season.

"It was the best feeling we've had all year," coach Pete Carroll said, per ESPN Seattle. "Just the best sense for one another and the focus and the intensity and just the feeling was really on today."

The win drew Seattle (7-4) within two games of Arizona (9-2) in the NFC West, a division that will be decided in the crucible of December. After visiting San Francisco on Thanksgiving night, the Seahawks close their campaign with another tilt against the 49ers in Week 15 before meeting the Cardinals and Rams.

As we pointed out on the podcast, the Seahawks' defense looked reborn on Sunday, while the Cardinals' offense -- with just 17 points over their past two games -- feels headed in the wrong direction.

Seattle's title defense has been littered with obstacles, but players and coaches on Sunday "pointed toward a renewed sense of trust" in each other, per the site. It showed against Arizona.

"It just felt like this was one of the first really big-time together games that we've played," Carroll said. "We've had some good games and stuff, but this was the best one."
