C.J. Spiller thrives in Buffalo Bills' loss to K.C. Chiefs

C.J. Spiller returned after missing one game, and the Buffalo Bills running back looked close to being back to his old self on Sunday, gashing the Kansas City Chiefs' defense in the Bills' 23-13 loss.

Spiller was so impressive that he gained 155 yards from scrimmage (116 on the ground), and Chiefs cornerback Brandon Flowers still felt like the defense did a good job containing him.

"You can see every week whenever he's healthy that he can do some things with every touch," Flowers told the The Buffalo News. "He's going to get his yards, but we just try to limit his plays, and I think we did a great job of it."

Spiller still ripped off runs of 29 and 61 yards, along with a 27-yard reception. He averaged 11.1 yards on 14 touches. As a team, the Bills ran for 241 yards in the loss.

The fourth-year pro came up limping a couple times Sunday and said the injured ankle that kept him out of Week 8 still isn't 100 percent.

"It's still not there, but it's definitely very close," Spiller said of his ankle. "Today was very encouraging to me."

It was very encouraging for fans as well (and, we're guessing, fantasy players). When Spiller is slicing up defenses, the Bills' offense is difficult to defend, regardless of who plays quarterback.
