TAMPA, Fla. -- Buccaneers wide receiver Ike Hilliard was driven off the field in the second quarter of Tampa Bay's win over Seattle on Sunday night after a hard collision with two Seahawks linebackers.
Hilliard was sitting up on the cart as it left the stadium, after being tended to for five minutes by medical personnel.
Hilliard made a catch around the Seattle 5, with Lofa Tatupu on his back and Leroy Hill delivering a hard shot from the front side. Hill's hit was so strong, Hilliard immediately crumpled to the turf.
"You never want to see that happen," Hill said.
Gruden said Hilliard had a concussion and would be hospitalized for observation overnight.
Tatupu didn't return after suffering a concussion
Seattle challenged the play, and after that review, officials determined Hilliard caught the ball and fumbled it, allowing the Seahawks to take over at their own 4 with 12:48 left in the half.
