The Miami Dolphins came home from Detroit with a 20-16 loss, but cornerback Brent Grimes took center stage with a one-handed interception that leads the way in Week 10's Top 10 "Performance Moments of the Week" presented by Bridgestone.
With the Lions leading 10-0 in the second quarter and gunning for more, Detroit quarterback Matthew Stafford dropped back from the Miami 31-yard line and aired the ball out toward a streaking Calvin Johnson down the right sideline. However, much to the pair's dismay, Grimes had other plans. The 5-foot-10 corner cut off the throw at the goal line as he leaped in the air and snagged the ball with his outstretched right hand -- subsequently hauling it in to prevent a sure six points and keeping the 'Fins in the contest.
Coming in at No. 2 was another cover man, though his play was an instrumental part of a victory. With his Arizona Cardinals protecting a slim 17-14 advantage over the St. Louis Rams in the fourth quarter, cornerback Patrick Peterson's opportunistic eyes trailed a high pass intended for Kenny Britt that the receiver tipped in the air in desperation. Seizing the moment, Peterson batted the ball to himself and raced 30 yards for a pick-six and a lead that the Cards would not relinquish.
Also featured in the countdown: Broncos running back C.J. Anderson's 51-yard catch-and-run for a score also began with a one-handed dandy. ... Yet another single-handed miracle from Packers receiver Randall Cobb led to an 18-yard touchdown and capped Aaron Rodgers' record-tying first half (six TD passes). ... Cowboys wideout Dez Bryant doubled his pleasure with a pair of end zone jaunts of 35 and 68 yards where he ran around, past and through several Jaguars defenders on his way to paydirt.
