Bradford, Bush among players to target for Week 5

NFL.com offers up 10 players to target off the waiver wire to improve your fantasy football team. The number listed in parenthesis is the percentage of NFL.com leagues that the player is still listed as a free agent.

Sam Bradford, QB, Rams (86.2 percent)

Rookie quarterbacks don't make for the most reliable fantasy options, but Bradford is playing very well right now. In his last two games, he's thrown for a combined 524 yards with three touchdowns. Next on the schedule is a date with the Lions, who field one of the league's worst defenses. If you need a bye-week replacement at the position, Bradford is well worth a look.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, QB, Bills (99.8 percent)

Fitzpatrick, a Harvard graduate, has actually put up some pretty good numbers since he was promoted into a starting role. In his last two games, he's thrown a combined four touchdown passes. If you need a quarterback in Week 5, he's a great sleeper against the Jaguars. No team has allowed more fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks after four weeks.

Bruce Gradkowski, QB, Raiders (98.1 percent)

Gradkowski doesn't have a lot of name value in fantasy football, but he's putting up some good numbers now that he's atop the Raiders depth chart. One week after throwing for 255 yards and one touchdown against the Cardinals, Gradkowski hit up the Texans for 278 yards and two scores. If you need a quarterback in Week 5, he's an option in leagues with 12-plus teams.

Michael Bush, RB, Raiders (40.0 percent)

Let me know if you've heard this before -- Darren McFadden is injured. Again. This time he suffered an injured hamstring against the Texans that forced him to miss the end of the contest. Hamstring ailments can cost a player several weeks, so Bush could be in line for a featured role for the Raiders. The bruising runner has a ton of talent and should be targeted for Week 5.

Ryan Torain, RB, Redskins (98.8 percent)

Coach Mike Shanahan hasn't changed his tendency to offer fantasy owners a sleeper running back now that he's with the Redskins. This time around it's Torain, who led the team in carries and scored a touchdown against the Eagles. Clinton Portis is injury-prone and no longer capable of being a featured running back, so Torain needs to be owned in all leagues with 12-plus teams.

Kenny Britt, WR, Titans (42.2 percent)

Britt isn't putting up huge yardage totals this season, but he has scored a touchdown in each of the last two games and seems to be out of coach Jeff Fisher's doghouse. What's more, the Rutgers product could start to see even more work in the weeks to come, as Justin Gage is dealing with an injured hamstring. Briit is well worth a look in most leagues, especially larger formats.

Brandon Lloyd, WR, Broncos (34.3 percent)

Trying to predict who is going to post the best numbers on a weekly basis among the Broncos wideouts can be difficult, but Lloyd has been the most consistent. He's come out of nowhere to produce three 100-yard performances, including a 115-yard stat line against the Titans in Week 4. With the Broncos throwing the football a ton, Lloyd is suddenly a very viable fantasy option.

Mike Williams, WR, Buccaneers (71.8 percent)

The Buccaneers had a bye in Week 4, so Williams was dropped in a lot of leagues. Well, now's the time to pick him up. The rookie has caught five passes in two of his first three NFL games. He's also scored two touchdowns and is clearly a prominent option for Josh Freeman. If you need a wide receiver for a spot start or just depth on your bench, Williams is a nice choice.

Tony Moeaki, TE, Chiefs (91.9 percent)

Much like Williams, Moeaki was on a bye last week and wasn't picked up off the waiver wire in countless leagues. However, he's well worth owning in most formats. In fact, Moeaki is putting up low-end fantasy starter numbers as a popular red-zone target for Matt Cassel. Whether you use him as a starter or a reserve behind a high-tier tight end, this rookie has some value.

Tony Scheffler, TE, Lions (98.5 percent)

Outside of Week 2, Scheffler has caught at least six passes in every game this season. He was solid against the Packers, hauling in six balls for 63 yards in a 28-26 loss. If you need a tight end, the pass-catching Scheffler is available in the majority of fantasy leagues. His teammate, fellow tight end Brandon Pettigrew, is also worth a look across the board.
