Bolts' Tucker voted Week 17 GMC Defensive Player of the Week

Linebacker Jyles Tucker of the San Diego Chargers is the GMC Defensive Player of the Week for games played on December 29-30.

Tucker was selected from among five finalists by voters on NFL.com. The other finalists were cornerback Ellis Hobbs of the New England Patriots, defensive end Antwan Odom of the Tennessee Titans, cornerback Antrel Rolle of the Arizona Cardinals and linebacker Brian Urlacher of the Chicago Bears.

On Friday, five players will be nominated for GMC Defensive Player of the Year honors. Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com throughout the month of January.

Tucker sacked and stripped Oakland QB JaMarcus Russell of the football, then recovered the fumble in the end zone to give the Chargers a 24-10 lead in the third quarter. Tucker sacked and stripped Russell again on the Raiders' final play from scrimmage.

Brian Urlacher, LB, Chicago Bears

!Brian UrlacherUrlacher made 11 tackles and one interception in the Bears' 33-25 win over the New Orleans Saints. Urlacher's first-quarter pick ended the Saints first drive of the game and led to a Bears possession resulting in a field goal for Chicago's first score of the game.!

!Mario WilliamsOdom recorded two sacks for a loss of 15 yards in the Titans' 16-10 win over the Indianapolis Colts. Both sacks were part of a Titans defensive effort that helped the Titans win to reach the playoffs.

!Ellis HobbsHobbs totaled six tackles and one interception in the Patriots' 38-35 win over the New York Giants. Hobbs' pick came in the fourth quarter and helped preserve the Patriots' undefeated regular season.!
