Bob Stoops slams draft projections for Dorial Green-Beckham

Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops lashed out Wednesday at the credibility of November mock drafts when it comes to transfer wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham.

Green-Beckham is sitting out this season at OU under NCAA transfer rules, and can't play for the Sooners until 2015 after transferring from Missouri under controversial circumstances. But because he'll be eligible to enter the 2015 NFL Draft, Green-Beckham is being projected as a first-round pick in mock drafts.

"All you have to do is go back the last two, three years and look at how accurate the mock drafts has been at this time of year. They're about 20 percent," Stoops said, according to the Kansas City Star. "Those guys have got no idea. That's just pure entertainment."

The report also quotes Stoops with two starkly different sentiments on Green-Beckham's pending choice.

"Why would I be concerned? If he does, he does," Stoops said of whether Green-Beckham leaves OU without ever playing a down.

But Stoops also had this to say about the draft decision facing top underclassmen in general.

"I'm always concerned that all of my players -- including him -- make an intelligent decision," Stoops said.

Green-Beckham caught 59 passes for 883 yards and 12 touchdowns as a sophomore at Missouri last season, but was dismissed from the program soon after he allegedly pushed a female down some stairs while searching for his girlfriend at a residence. The case was investigated as a burglary, but Green-Beckham was not charged.

Sooner wide receivers coach Jay Norvell said earlier this season that Green-Beckham plans to stay at OU to play next season.
