Bo Scarbrough intends to return to Alabama for 2017 season

Fear not, Alabama fans.

The Tide's Peach Bowl hero, running back Bo Scarbrough, intends to return to school for the 2017 season.

Scarbrough is three years removed from high school, and thus could apply for early eligibility into the 2017 NFL Draft.

However, Scarbrough told CFB 24/7's Chase Goodbread on Saturday at media day for the national championship game that he will be back for another year with the Tide, and it sounds like he didn't give the alternative much consideration.

Asked if the decision was hard, Scarbrough said "Why would it be hard?"

Underclassmen have until a Jan. 16 deadline to apply for early eligiblity.

Scarbrough, a sophomore, sat out the 2014 season due to academic-eligibility issues. He served as a backup to Heisman winner Derrick Henry last season, and the 6-foot-2, 228-pound power back reminded some observers of Henry as he pummeled Washington's defense to the tune of 180 yards and 2 touchdowns last week in a College Football Playoff semifinal game.

It was a star turn the for rusher, and his stock will be soaring if he can replicate that performance against a tough Clemson defense in the title game on Monday night.
