Bills LT Bell has injured knee, could sit out Sunday vs. Chiefs

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Buffalo Bills starting left tackle Demetrius Bell missed practice because of a knee injury, leaving his status uncertain for the winless team's game Sunday at Kansas City.

Bills coach Chan Gailey spoke only before practice Wednesday, and didn't provide any details on Bell when discussing the team's injured players. It's unclear if Bell was hurt during a 37-34 overtime loss at Baltimore last Sunday, or whether it's related to the right knee injury that ended the player's season in December.

The Bills (0-6) already are without starting right tackle Cornell Green, who's out indefinitely with a knee injury.

Starting free safety Jairus Byrd also missed practice because of a thigh injury. Gailey expressed hope that Byrd will practice Thursday.
