Bill Belichick: Alfonzo Dennard like any Patriots player

Alfonzo Dennard remains in good standing with the New England Patriots. For now.

Asked Friday about Dennard's status, Patriots coach Bill Belichick told NFL.com's Albert Breer that the cornerback is just like anybody else on the roster. Belichick confirmed the second-year pro is in-house and practicing with his teammates.

"We have 90 players out there," Belichick said. "Our roster is at 90 players. We're full. They're all active. They'll all be participating."

The Patriotsimposed no punishment on Dennard following his recent arrest on suspicion of DUI. Dennard already faces a 30-day jail sentence for assaulting a police officer before he was drafted in April 2012. The cornerback's July 31 hearing might have an impact on his future with the team, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport noted last Friday.

That hearing's outcome also might prompt the NFL to suspend Dennard under its personal-conduct policy, so it's fair to say the Patriots are in a wait-and-see mode with their talented but distracted cornerback.
