Bears safety Manning signs one-year tender offer

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Restricted free agent safety Danieal Manning has signed his one-year tender offer from the Chicago Bears, the team announced Wednesday.

Manning has started 40 of 61 games played during his four seasons with the Bears. He has six career interceptions, six forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.

A valuable special teams contributor, Manning has 11 kickoff returns for 40 or more yards over the past two seasons, which leads the NFL. He averaged a league-high 29.7 yards per kickoff return (1,070 yards on 36 returns) in 2008.
