Kyle Fuller hasn't played for the Bears in 2016, now he'll be out at least eight more weeks.
NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday that Fuller is heading to injured reserve. The team later confirmed the move. The corner could be a candidate to return after sitting out eight weeks.
Fuller started 16 games last season and Bears coaches believed the 5-foot-11 corner could make a leap in his third year. Alas, knee troubles wiped out most, if not all, of his season.
Fuller dealt with a knee injury during training camp and underwent a knee scope in mid-August.
It's killer news for an already undermanned and talent-deficient Bears defense. Vic Fangio will ride youth in the secondary in corners Bryce Callahan, Jacoby Glenn and rookie Deiondre' Hall opposite veteran Tracy Porter.
After a 0-3 start, it already appears a lost season in Chicago. At least John Fox should get a long look at his young players.
