It's back to the AFC North for Mike Wallace.
The former Steelers, Dolphins and Vikings receiver has struck a two-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens worth $11.5 million, sources involved with negotiations told NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport. Rapoport adds the deal includes $4.5 million guaranteed, and a team option for the 2017 season.
The team later confirmed the signing.
It's a solid pickup for the Ravens, who played minus a bona fide deep threat last season. Wallace turns 30 in August, but the eighth-year pro still houses the speed to make a difference in the right system.
Don't expect a miracle-worker, though, because Wallace was a disappointment in Minnesota. Hauling in just 39 grabs for 473 yards and two touchdowns, he cracked 60 yards receiving just twice in 2015. Wallace also slumped hard during a stretch from Week 7 to Week 11 that saw him catch only two passes.
As for 2016, Wallace has a chance to produce in Baltimore's Joe Flacco-led offense beside Steve Smith, Jr., Kamar Aiken and second-year pass-catcher Breshad Perriman. Still, don't rule out the Ravens mining the draft for another weapon -- they can use more help.
