Baltimore Ravens interview Scott Linehan

The Baltimore Ravens continued to look at big names for their vacant offensive coordinator position.

Scott Linehaninterviewed for the job Monday at the Senior Bowl, the Baltimore Sun first reported. Ravens coach John Harbaugh later confirmed the news, also announcing that Linehan was one of four men being considered for the job thus far. Ravens wide receivers coach Jim Hostler and former Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan have already interviewed. Pittsburgh Steelers running backs coach Kirby Wilson will interview later this week.

Harbaugh has also interviewed some college coaches that apparently don't want their name put out publicly.

Linehan looks like the strangest fit despite his experience. The former St. Louis Rams head coach and Detroit Lions offensive coordinator just coached some of the most pass-heavy teams in NFL history. Matthew Stafford broke the NFL's record for pass attempts in 2012.

It would be interesting to see Joe Flacco throw the ball that much, but it doesn't match up with coach John Harbaugh's stated preferences. The one thing in Linehan's favor: He loves the vertical passing game, and that should be one of Flacco's strengths.
