Austin Collie, Colts out to disprove AP power rankings

The Indianapolis Colts get the picture: People aren't expecting much from this young team.

Peyton Manning is gone. With him, a boatload of star power that helped deliver nine straight double-digit-win seasons.

Harrison: Power Rankings

With preseason action heating up, Elliot Harrison delivers his first Power Rankings since the 2012 NFL Draft. **More ...**

When The Associated Press debuted its Pro32 poll, the voters -- a collection of renowned football writers -- ranked the Colts dead last at No. 32.

At least one holdover from Indy's glory years has taken notice. Receiver Austin Collie was seen at practice Wednesday with "32" emblazoned on the back of his T-shirt. Above the numbers he scrawled the words "Power Rankings."

George Bremer of the The Herald Bulletin reported Collie and his teammates are "listening to critics and using it as motivation."Colts players donned the shirts during Sunday's preseason win over the St. Louis Rams.

Collie and Co. won't be thrilled to learn that NFL.com and NFL Network's Elliot Harrison shares The AP's stormy outlook, ranking the Indy dead last in his most recent NFL power poll. The future of the Colts is promising with Andrew Luck at the wheel, but today's team is littered with holes on both sides of the roster.

It's 32 for now. Let's see where we are by the end of the season.
