If Derrick Henry wrestled Heisman Trophy front-runner status from Leonard Fournette last week, he padded his lead this week.
The Crimson Tide junior rushed for 204 yards on 22 carries Saturday in a 31-6 win over Mississippi State, including touchdown runs of 74 and 65 yards. On the second of those scores, the 240-pound Henry delivered a vicious stiff-arm on the sideline to MSU defensive back Kivon Coleman:
Scouts from the New York Jets, San Diego Chargers and San Francisco 49ers were on hand to evaluate Henry and other top prospects. It was his third 200-yard game of the season, and came just a week after he outperformed Fournette in a critical SEC West game that might have cost the LSU sophomore the Heisman. Henry now has 1,458 yards on 240 carries and 19 touchdowns this season.
Henry's backup, Kenyan Drake, left the game with an injury that coach Nick Saban said he believes to be a broken arm.
