The agent for Buffalo Bills running back Fred Jackson believes general manager Buddy Nix when he says he wants to work out an extension with the five-year veteran.

"Buddy Nix has been honest and consistent with us all along," Ron Raccuia told WGR-AM on Friday. "I'm confident talks will get started in the next couple of months."
Nix revealed in an appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio earlier this month that he told Jackson an extension will be offered by the time training camp begins this summer.
"That way there's no chance of him getting hurt," Nix said at the time. "He'll be healthy and he'll have an extension before he goes to camp. We'll be as straight as we can with him."
The Bills have had a busy offseason, signing big-ticket free-agent linebacker Mario Williams to a six-year, $96 million contract and inking pass-rush specialist Mark Anderson to a four-year deal worth up to $27 million.
Jackson, 31, is in the last year of his current contract. He ran for 934 yards and six touchdowns last season in 10 games before he was waylaid by a broken leg suffered in November.
Undrafted out of Coe College, Jackson joined the Bills in 2007. He has 3,794 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns on his career. He's also caught 175 passes for 1,535 yards and four scores.
