Aaron Rodgers won't play for Packers against Steelers

Aaron Rodgers will miss another week for the Packers.

Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy made the announcement Friday, ruling the star quarterback out for a seventh consecutive week. Matt Flynn will make his fourth straight start Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

"As an organization we are not ready for Aaron to play," McCarthy said.

Rodgers watched from the side as Flynn took snaps with the Packers' first team on Friday, according to ESPN.com. The same scenario played out a week earlier before McCarthy ruled Rodgers out.

Rodgers has been sidelined since suffering a fractured collarbone on Nov. 4. McCarthy said Rodgers looked "sharp" and "ready to play" in his work during Thursday's practice, but the quarterback has yet to receive medical clearance to return.

"He understands where we are. Everything's been explained," McCarthy added. "He's played with injuries. He's a tough guy. Like I said, he's done everything he possibly can to get back on the field."

It's an ugly version of "Groundhog Day" for the Packers, who can't get their best player back on the field with the season hanging in the balance.
