Aaron Rodgers: I'd trade MVP for another Packers title

That whole MVP thing was great and all, but Aaron Rodgers said he would give it back with the quickness. The Green Bay Packers quarterback followed a Super Bowl winning season with a MVP award. He certainly has a preference.

Harrison: Week 14 Power Rankings

Entering the final quarter of the regular season, there's still plenty of movement in Elliot Harrison's NFL pecking order. **More ...**

"I would give away the MVP award last year to win an NFL championship," Rodgers said Tuesday during his weekly radio show on ESPNWisconsin.com with Jason Wilde.

The Packers cake-walked through the 2011 regular season with a 15-1 record as Rodgers destroyed opponents on a weekly basis. Then the New York Giants popped the Packers in Green Bay in the divisional round of the playoffs.

"Quarterbacks are going to be remembered for the amount of championships they've won," Rodgers said. "Unless you're Dan Marino because Dan, obviously, was one of the greatest of all time. ... It's all about winning championships in Green Bay, and that's what I want to be remembered for. Regardless of how we get there, obviously, I want to be impacting the game and making the plays I'm supposed to make.

"I'm OK if it's not a Houston game every week as long as we're winning."

Rodgers has had a mellow second half of the season, by his standards. He hasn't thrown for 300 yards since Week 7. The Week 6 game against the Houston Texans was his last monster outing -- 338 yards and six touchdowns. Rodgers threw four touchdowns against the Arizona Cardinals, but has four touchdowns and three interceptions in the following three games. The important stat: The Packers have won six of seven, including the win in Houston.

Rodgers is still on pace to surpass 4,000 passing yards, while the 38 touchdowns would be the second-highest total of his career. But few have mentioned him as a potential MVP.

Rodgers seems to be all right with that.
